Tickets are now on sale for the Historical Society of the Town of Colonie’s 2019 Historic Walking Tour at the Albany Rural Cemetery, which is set for Saturday, May 18th.
Attendees will visit the graves of prominent persons interred in Albany Rural Cemetery. First person presentations by local actors at gravesites along the tour route will provide life stories of many historical figures, such as Albany Evening Journal editor George Dawson, physician and politician John Swinburne, Margarita Schuyler (daughter of General Philip Schuyler) and a variety of soldiers, businessmen, attorneys, and prominent women who have an historical tale to tell.
Cost is $20 per person (plus minimal processing fee).
The tour will be an afternoon event. There will be four different group time slots beginning at 2 pm.
The tour will take approximately an hour and a half.
