The Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell, Vermont (near the New York border) is set to host a book discussion and learning program on Christopher Wren’s book, Those Turbulent Sons of Freedom: Ethan Allen’s Green Mountain Boys and the American Revolution, on Saturday, June 8th.
From 12:30 to 1:45 pm, Christopher Wren will lead a discussion on his latest book, Those Turbulent Sons of Freedom: Ethan Allen’s Green Mountain Boys and the American Revolution. Bring your book and a picnic lunch. At 2 pm, Wren will speak about Ethan Allen, the Green Mountain Boys, and his book. Wren, a retired New York Times reporter and editor, is now visiting professor at Dartmouth College.
Copies of Wren’s book, Those Turbulent Sons of Freedom, will be available for purchase and signing. This is the annual J. Robert Maguire Lecture, hosted by the Mount Independence Coalition to honor the work of J. Robert Maguire in preserving Mount Independence.
